New York City always has something exciting going on.  Last month, the Taro’s Origami Studio staff was asked to attend an exclusive music concert presented by Verizon and Spotify for R.LUM.R. The origami staff (headlined by Taro Yaguchi himself as well as Senior Artist Frank Ling) taught the guests butterflies and then ever got into a paper crane competition with some of the rest of the staff at the event.

It was held at the Japan Society which is a non-profit organization formed in 1907 to promote friendly relations between the United States and Japan. Its headquarters, the youngest landmark building in New York, opened in 1971 right across from the United Nation in Manhattan.

The concert for the evening was with the artist R.LUM.R. who is a Nashville Tennessee based R&B singer who gained popularity in 2016 for a few songs.  The event also had calligraphy as well as other Japanese art forms for guests to experience.
