Taro’s Origami Oakland Artist Jennifer Linderman was at the East Bay Mini Maker Faire recently to show off her origami skills with the community. The Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do.

From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these “makers” to show hobbies, experiments, projects. They call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth – a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.

For this Faire held at the Park Day School in Oakland, Jennifer helped the community collaborate on a large scale origami wall-art piece.  Visitors learned how to make easy-to-fold modules that were then linked together to create a visual story.  The community artwork then took shape and guests could see how their contribution fit together as a part of the whole!

As you can see from the pictures, Jennifer helped teach origami triangular pyramids, or tetrahedron shapes that then were placed on the wall in the outline of an enormous community tree.  It was a great afternoon and a huge thanks to everyone involve din helping to make the mini maker faire in Oakland a huge success!
