Custom Origami Event for LinkedIn

Two things the Taro’s Origami team loves are designing new models and teaching them.  And that is why we had so much fun working with LinkedIn for their event.  For one of their events at their Empire State Building office in Manhattan New York they requested some fun origami models.  And with extensive practice making custom origami designs, the Taro’s team got to work.

1: Designing

There are several good Empire State Building origami models, but none of them are easy to teach.  As a result, Taro’s decided to make their own.  Starting from reference photos of the actual building and its silhouette, Senior Designer Frank Ling landed on an elegant model from a kite base.

LinkedIn loved the design and it was off to teaching their staff.

2: Teaching

Origami is a great way to bring people together.  No matter what your skill level is, the Taro’s Origami team can teach you something fun.  For the LinkedIn event Frank chose a selection of simple models to teach.

After the origami model of the Empire State Building, he taught rabbits, butterflies, foxes and even some really fun paper airplane models.

Everyone had a great time and it was a pleasure folding with their entire team.
