Luxury hotel brand Loews is always looking for ways to entertain guests. Recently they invited Taro’s Origami Studio to one of their exclusive parties at Zuma on Madison Avenue in New York City. The upscale Japanese restaurant is well known for their private dining spaces and that is where New York based Senior Artist Frank Ling folded models for guests.
For the event Frank talked extensively with the Loews staff about the feel of the event. For all origami experiences the artists at Taro’s strive to make each event unique to the client. Some origami events call for a party-like atmosphere, while others are more of a bespoke folding ceremony, where folders create models on demand for attendees. This setting was a bit of both, and after deciding on a few models that would fit the vibe of the night, Mr. Ling was busy the whole time making models from his collection of authentic Japanese origami papers. It was a night of great memories for everyone.
