Braze is a customer engagement platform used by businesses for multichannel marketing. Last week they held their employee appreciation event. It was on the top floor of their headquarters in the heart of Midtown NYC, and Taro’s Origami Studio was thrilled to join.
Braze was looking for a new way to engage their employees and contacted Taro’s Origami Studio with a list of requests. First, they where looking for an artist that can fold models on demand. Next they wanted to select a few models that had significance to the company, specifically, elephants, lotus flowers, and cranes. And third, they wanted to see if they could have someone teach simple models to the staff as well.
Frank Ling, a Senior origami Artist based in NYC, and also the manager of the Brooklyn store was the perfect choice for this event. Frank has worked hundreds of events like this in his over 10 years of work for the studio and is a wonderful folder and performer.
Aside from origami, the private event had a roving temporary tattoo artist, two different caricature artists, and other unique experiences. Frank folded nonstop for about 4 hours, entertaining and teaching groups of 5-10 people at a time. In fact, it got so popular that a separate group of employees branched off to fold star strips and help their very own origami paper airplane throwing contest.
Origami is a unique way to have fun. Frank received many compliments on the night, but the highlight was watching the staff at Braze try something new and connect with each other.
