2024 Origami Convention

Another year, another fantastic origami convention!  For the second year in a row, Taro’s Origami Studio set up shop and provided a wide selection of hard-to-find items.  The convention this year ran from Friday July 19 – Monday July 22 at the Sheraton near Times Square in New York City.  As one of the lead sponsors of the convention we also had the privilege of meeting almost everyone who attended.  We saw a lot of familiar faces, including current and old students, as well as some of our newest private lesson students from Senior Teachers Ben Friesen and Frank Ling.

The store was proud to provide attendees with a ton of tissue papers and origami paper cases.  Our own unique paper cutters also flew off the shelves as well. We were also proud to provide a few school teachers larger papers in specific colors that can be very hard to find anywhere else.

Classes

The second part of convention that we always look forward to is teaching our own custom models to new folders.  his year, both Senior Teachers Frank Ling and Jeff Raab worked together to teach a class on their own designs.  Frank taught a class on his adorable kitty and then Jeff taught a pig that can fly and a really clean empire state building model.   The class was well attended and everyone was able to enjoy the new models.
